Community Amenities

The City of Decatur provides all the amenities of a large city, but in a small town way. Listed below are a few primary amenities the city has to offer its citizens and businesses.


Parks

The Decatur Independent School District is home to the following schools:

Public Library

Conference Center

Decatur Municipal Airport

Decatur Visitor Center
  

      The Decatur Visitor Center is located in the historic US Post Office building and is also the location of the Decatur Main Street Program offices.  Visitors can find information about Decatur and Wise County including maps and other resources for the area.  


Decatur Main Street Program


        The City of Decatur was designated a Texas Main Street City in 1994.  Program volunteers use the Main Street 4 Point Approach of Organization, Design, Promotions and Economic Restructuring for the designated 9 block area in the historic downtown working with building owners, business owners and community organizations focusing on historic preservation and economic revitalization of the district. For more information about the Decatur Main Street Program, visit Main Street Program.
