Future Elections
Council Place 2, Council Place 4, and Council Place 6 (at large) will next be elected on May 6, 2023 (first Saturday in May). The filing period begins on January 18, 2023 with a February 17, 2023 deadline to file applications for a place on the ballot.
A candidate must be a resident of the City for at least one year immediately preceding the date of the election, shall be a registered voter of the City of Decatur as of the filing deadline, and shall not have been finally convicted of a felony criminal offense.
