Credit Card Transactions
In accordance with the schedule of fees, starting March 1st, the City of Decatur will be charging a 3% convenience fee for all credit card transactions.
City Council Meeting Results Feb. 22nd, 2010
The following were results from the Feb. 22nd, 2010 city council meeting:
1. Presented Proclamation: Proclaiming February 23, 2010 as “IHOP’s NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY” in Decatur to support the Shriners Hospitals. (Agenda Item #1)
2. Heard introduction of a Community Garden concept from Mr. Jim Hencken. (Agenda Item #2)
3. Approved Council meeting minutes of February 8, 2010. (Agenda Item #3)
4. Approved an Ordinance to zone 1.80 acres as C-2, located at US Business 380, US Highway 81/287 and Washburn Avenue, more commonly referred to as “The Pit” ZC2010-01. (Agenda Item #4)
5. Approved an Ordinance amending the Schedule of Fees. (Agenda Item #5)
6. Approved an Ordinance creating a “Noise Nuisance” as a violation. (Agenda Item #6)
7. Received Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Audit Report as unqualified opinion, a routine review. (Agenda Item #7)

6. Denied sidewalk variance application 2010-01 – Michael Doggett’s request on behalf of Skip Bird and CVS Pharmacy (Agenda Item #6)
7. Held first reading of an Ordinance amending the City’s Schedule of Fees (Agenda Item #7)

Online Water Payments
The City of Decatur is pleased to now offer online payments for water bills. In order to use the system you will need your account number and PIN number. You may obtain the PIN number by either asking one of our Utilities Clerks or waiting for your next bill. The usage of the online payment system may incur a fee after the schedule of fees is passed.
You may access the system through the quick link on the left titled "Pay Your Water Bill", or by navigating to Departments->Utilities form the menu above and then clicking on "Pay Your Bill Online".
2010 Business Appreciation Dinner
The Decatur Economic Development Corporation will be holding its annual Business Appreciation Dinner on February 16th at the Decatur Civic Center.
